Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced professional as a project manager in architecture ETH / FH for a demanding architectural firm focusing on competition projects and high-quality architecture. You will take on independent project management and implementation of successful architectural competitions from the further development of the design through planning to construction realisation. The focus is on architectural quality assurance, leading small project teams, coordinating specialist planners, as well as cost, schedule and quality management. The position combines design responsibility, constructive project development and professional construction project management with diverse design opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Independent project management of demanding architectural projects across all relevant SIA phases from project development to realisation

• Further development and implementation of successful competition projects considering the architectural design idea and project-specific requirements

• Leadership and professional coordination of small architectural teams including task distribution, resource planning and quality assurance

• Development and deepening of architectural concepts as well as ensuring design quality in planning and execution phases

• Preparation and coordination of planning, building permit and execution documents including constructive detail development

• Coordination of interdisciplinary specialist planner teams with structural engineers, building services planners and other specialists

• Project controlling and schedule management including monitoring of planning deadlines, project budgets, quality targets and resources

• Consulting and support of clients as well as presentation of project statuses, variant studies and technical decision bases

• Accompanying building permit procedures including coordination with authorities and handling of building law requirements

• Close cooperation with site management and contractors during tenders, awards, technical detail questions and construction implementation

• Ensuring compliance with relevant SIA standards, cantonal building regulations and project-specific quality standards

• Architectural and constructive quality assurance focusing on materialisation, technical feasibility, sustainability and cost-effectiveness

Qualifications:

• Completed architecture studies ETH or FH or equivalent recognised higher education

• Several years of professional experience in Swiss architectural practice with proven experience in independent project management

• Sound knowledge of all relevant SIA phases, especially design, planning, execution planning and realisation

• Experience in leading small project teams as well as coordinating specialist planners and external project participants

• In-depth expertise in architectural design, construction, detail planning and quality assurance

• Good knowledge of Swiss construction and planning processes, SIA standards, building permit procedures as well as cost and schedule management

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form
