Role:
You think in topologies, protocols, and security zones. In this position as Routing & Switching Engineer, you design a company-wide infrastructure with routing, switching, and a well-thought-out firewall landscape. Agile working methods shape everyday life, decisions are made as a team and on a technical equal footing. Those who like to share knowledge and prioritise quality over quick workarounds will find plenty of scope here.
Responsibilities:
You design and operate networks over LAN, WAN, and WLAN and continuously develop them.
You set up the firewall environment, monitor it, and adjust rule sets cleanly.
In case of faults, you take over analysis in 2nd and 3rd level support and ensure sustainable solutions.
Furthermore, you maintain the availability, scalability, and performance of the environment permanently at a high level.
Together with system and security engineers, you shape a coherent overall architecture.
You also keep operating concepts, standards, and technical documentation up to date.
Qualifications:
A degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent qualification forms your basis.
You have already gained several years of practical experience in network operations.
Firewalling, VLAN, DNS, VPN, and certificate handling are part of your toolkit.
You apply common protocols such as BGP and OSPF confidently.
Furthermore, you work in a structured manner, set priorities accurately, and translate technical topics into clear statements for specialist departments.
You also enjoy coaching junior talents and communicate fluently in German and English.
