Clinical Specialist Nurse 80% Permanent Contract
The Interprofessional Practice Centre (CPI) within the operations management is seeking a clinical specialist nurse to provide second-line support to home care and support professionals, aiming to maintain and develop the quality and safety of services and the clinical skills of staff. The role operates on three levels: expertise through analysis and support in complex situations, skills development, and updating professional practices.
Your missions and responsibilities
Expert intervention in complex situations with clients and teams
- Develop home care expertise
- Develop and maintain professionals’ skills
- Analyse requests and identify problems, implement action strategies using multidisciplinary team resources
- Monitor teams for solution implementation
- Support the development of professionals’ clinical judgement
- Use tools such as situation analyses to promote problem-solving approaches and quality professional practices
Skills development
- Prepare and lead training meetings related to professional practices (home care context, specific clinical field)
- Support care and support professionals in developing skills for specific client groups linked to the area of expertise
- Support staff in their roles through close-proximity training sessions.
Updating practices
- Develop and propose clinical tools useful for professional practices and support teams in acquiring them based on recent scientific data
- Develop, deliver, and promote educational programmes for clients and their informal carers, as well as professional teams
- Encourage and ensure the improvement of quality and safety of care and support services.
- Propose to professional practice managers any action and/or study enabling quality and safety improvements of services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, complemented by a CAS, DAS, or Master’s specialisation in an area of expertise such as mental health, palliative care, elderly care, or another field related to home care. The CAS alone must eventually be completed by a DAS.
- 5 to 7 years of experience as a nurse
- Desired experience and expertise in home care practice
- Good analytical and writing skills
- Committed, motivated person with excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience in home help is an asset
- Knowledge of the Geneva care network
- Good pedagogical skills, flexibility, and proactivity
- Ability to position oneself in line with the institutional policy
- Knowledge of English (reading and speaking) is desirable
