We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with broad expertise in cloud, servers, networks, and IT security. In this versatile role, you ensure the stable operation of complex IT systems and continuously develop existing infrastructures and technical standards.
You work at the interface between operations, cloud, and security and also play a central role in handling demanding incidents. At the same time, you contribute your experience in architecture topics, documentation, and the continuous securing of the environment.
Responsibilities:
Support and further development of server and virtualisation platforms as well as central Microsoft services
Ensuring the operation of SQL database environments including maintenance, performance optimisation, and fault analysis
Handling complex infrastructure incidents as the technical 3rd-level escalation point for on-premise and cloud systems
Designing secure network structures with firewalls, load balancing, VPCs, and routing components
Managing the internal PKI as well as administration and renewal of SSL/TLS certificates
Implementing patch and vulnerability management as well as building and optimising monitoring and alerting concepts
Developing technical standards, naming conventions, and IPAM concepts as well as maintaining system documentation
Qualifications:
IT education at EFZ, HF, or FH level or comparable university degree
Several years of experience in cloud infrastructure, system engineering, or IT security
Very good technical knowledge of server, network, and cloud infrastructures
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies
Knowledge of security, certificate management, and system hardening
Independent, solution-oriented, and team-oriented personality with a hands-on mentality
Willingness for on-call and maintenance duties as well as occasional travel
Very good German skills and fluent English
