About the job
The University Centre for Prevention and Sports Medicine is the only university Swiss Olympic Medical Center in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. It is a separate department within the Orthopaedics of the Balgrist University Hospital. In the outpatient sector, the University Centre for Prevention and Sports Medicine is a nationwide leader in elite and grassroots sports. Around 300 people seek advice and exercise with us daily. There is close cooperation with competitive sports and a variety of sports associations/clubs.
For our secretariat, we are looking for a maternity cover on a six-month fixed-term contract starting 1 December 2026 or by arrangement. If mutually interested, there is the possibility to continue the collaboration afterwards within a permanent position with a reduced workload. The definitive workload will be determined jointly at a later date.

Medical Practice Assistant EFZ (m/f/d) 80-100 %
Your tasks
- Organisation of consultations including patient call-up and appointment coordination (Monday to Friday in three different day shifts from 07:00 to 18:00)
- Telephone and written contact with patients, relatives, doctors, insurance companies, hospitals as well as clubs/associations
- Outpatient billing according to TARDOC
- General secretarial duties, correction of medical reports and creation of medical records
- Independent management and electronic administration of the agenda
- Appointment management (including physiotherapy, performance diagnostics, sports therapy and golf institutes)
- Consultation preparation (case opening, reports, billing, X-rays, laboratory results etc.)
- Organisation and execution of blood sampling, preparation of ACP (including ACP Max), infusions, vaccinations and wound care
Your profile
- Completed training as a Medical Practice Assistant EFZ or Health Specialist EFZ
- Professional experience with pronounced medical expertise and good organisational skills
- You appreciate contact with our patients as well as with sports enthusiasts and are yourself sporty
- Forward-looking, independent and efficient working style with a strong service and customer orientation
- Friendly personality with high social and team competence, accustomed to setting priorities and taking responsibility
- In addition to confident German, good English skills are important for communication in an intercultural environment
