IT Systems & Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d)

Responsibilities:
You operate and maintain the physical server and storage infrastructure at the colocation sites
In this role, you coordinate hardware installations, replacements, upgrades, cabling as well as rack and power connections
As an IT Systems & Infrastructure Engineer, you monitor hardware status, power, temperature, storage capacity and environmental conditions
You operate and maintain Proxmox clusters, virtual machines, Linux servers as well as Ceph and ZFS storage environments
In this role, you provide and maintain core infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, certificates and associated network services
As a System Engineer, you participate in incident management, infrastructure changes and the compensated on-call rotation
Qualifications:
You have training in IT, systems engineering, computer science or a comparable technical or university degree (e.g. computer scientist EFZ platform development, ICT specialist EFZ, ICT system and network technician with federal certificate)
You have practical experience in Linux system administration and in building and operating server infrastructures
You are familiar with virtualisation platforms such as Proxmox, VMware or comparable technologies and with storage technologies such as Ceph, ZFS or distributed storage systems
You bring solid knowledge in server hardware, operating system installation, patching, monitoring as well as in backup, restore, high availability and disaster recovery concepts
You have good knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP and general network services and ideally scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell or Python
You convince with strong soft skills such as problem-solving ability, teamwork, ownership and clear communication and are fluent in German and ideally English, residing in Switzerland
