As a strategic buyer for technical raw materials, you ensure that our production is optimally supplied at all times. You also support our product development in creating innovative products and services.
Qualifications and Characteristics
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (FH/University) as well as purchasing-specific further training (e.g. purchasing specialist, purchasing manager)
- 3 years of experience in strategic purchasing in industry, ideally in the procurement of plastics, adhesives, paper, or similar materials
- Very good German skills in spoken and written form (level C1) as well as good English skills (at least level B2)
- Very good ERP knowledge and particular interest in digital procurement as well as the use of electronic tools and generative AI
- Willingness to travel about 20% (supplier and plant visits)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with a professional appearance and clear expression
- Excellent self-organisation and reliability, structured working
- High resilience, stress resistance and conflict management skills, confident acting in demanding negotiation situations
About the Job
You are responsible for the strategic purchasing of defined product groups for raw materials and semi-finished products such as chemicals, plastics, adhesives or paper products. You develop and implement procurement strategies, conduct price and quantity negotiations, design contracts and ensure supply security. In doing so, you monitor international raw material markets, analyse their impacts and use global trends to SIGA's advantage.
You work closely with operational procurement, quality management and product development to optimally support our core processes. Additionally, you continuously optimise our purchasing concept, maintain supplier relationships and are actively involved as a key user in the further development of our SRM software. Regular supplier visits as well as the target group-oriented preparation of market information for internal stakeholders complete your versatile range of tasks.
