(disinfestation project of the collections of the Natural History Museum of Geneva)

The Natural History Museum of the City of Geneva (MHN) is one of the main scientific and cultural institutions in Switzerland. It carries out research, conservation, mediation and enhancement of natural heritage missions.

A large-scale project to safeguard the collections was approved in June 2026 in addition to ongoing projects concerning major infrastructure work and new museography. In this context, the Museum wishes to strengthen its team for the preservation of collections in these premises and at an external site, and is looking for a

Your mission and responsibilities

• Coordinate the treatment of collections involved in the gallery disinfestation project, the external storage room, and the planning of relocations.
• Ensure the monitoring of the location of the collections.
• Ensure the monitoring of the restoration of the collections involved in the project and their reinstallation in the gallery.
• Provide expertise in conservation-restoration throughout the project.

Your profile

• Hold a university-level qualification (master’s degree or equivalent) in the field of conservation-restoration of natural history collections or in a field deemed equivalent.
• Have significant professional experience in managing projects involving the relocation and treatment of collections. Knowledge of the Horus software will be considered an asset.
• Demonstrate a keen sense of organisation, the ability to plan, prioritise and coordinate work involving multiple actors and interdisciplinary skills.
• Show excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work in a team.
• Demonstrate autonomy, rigour, and reliability.
