Introduction
For our client, an established company in the international aviation and aerospace industry, we are seeking an experienced leader as Director Purchasing & Logistics. In this strategically important role, you will take overall responsibility for purchasing, material flow, warehousing, logistics, as well as customs and export processes. Together with various departments, you will ensure the reliable supply of demanding projects and actively drive the further development of processes and teams.
Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for purchasing, inventory management, logistics, customs, and material planning
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies and sustainably expand international supplier relationships
- Conduct negotiations on framework agreements, prices, delivery terms, and services
- Ensure material availability for ongoing projects and identify procurement risks early
- Lead, develop, and promote multiple teams and ensure efficient organisational structures
- Optimise supply chain, warehousing, and logistics processes and take responsibility for budget, reporting, and compliance
Profile
- Completed studies in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, engineering, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional and leadership experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or logistics
- Proven experience in negotiating international supplier contracts and optimising procurement processes
- Sound knowledge in import/export, customs, inventory management, and ERP systems
- Analytical, entrepreneurial, and decisive personality with a hands-on mentality
- Very good English skills, both spoken and written; German and other foreign languages are an advantage
