Security Monitoring Specialist (m/f/d)

Detecting cyberattacks early and responding correctly requires a clear eye for anomalies, technical understanding, and coordinated collaboration. In this position, you are part of the operational security defence: you investigate suspicious events, assess risks, and help initiate appropriate countermeasures. At the same time, you contribute your experience to the further development of security tools and processes, thereby strengthening the resilience of the entire ICT environment.
Responsibilities:
Analyse and prioritise threats
You investigate security events, conduct triage, and document relevant findings related to security incidents.
You monitor company-wide security systems and detect anomalies based on technical analyses.
You use your knowledge of attack patterns and security methods to classify events accurately.
Coordinate defence
You coordinate necessary defence and remediation measures with internal security officers and technical specialists.
You coordinate collaboration with external security service providers and ICT suppliers during security-critical events.
You develop technical solution approaches and support the preparation of decision-making bases.
Further develop security solutions
You participate in the evaluation and procurement of new security systems and tools.
You contribute your practical experience to security projects and the optimisation of existing security processes.
Qualifications:
Technical know-how
You have completed a technical education in cybersecurity, computer science, or a comparable field.
You have broad knowledge in cybersecurity and IT, especially in Windows and Linux environments.
You are familiar with OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK, and common methods for analysing cyber threats.
You bring at least three years of experience in cyber security analytics and threat hunting.
You have practical experience with SIEM and monitoring solutions.
Personal strengths
You analyse complex situations in a structured manner and derive comprehensible recommendations for action.
You document your findings precisely and communicate clearly and purposefully even during security-critical events.
You enjoy working with different professionals and external partners.
You have a confident command of German in spoken and written form; knowledge of French is an advantage.
