Purchasing Team Leader

We are recruiting, on behalf of our client, a Purchasing Team Leader to lead a team of technical buyers and actively contribute to the purchasing strategy of a Swiss industrial company renowned for its high value-added technical projects.

This role is aimed at an experienced professional wishing to combine management, strategic leadership and close involvement with operations. As a true link between Management, technical teams and suppliers, you play a key role in the company’s industrial performance.

Your role

As Purchasing Team Leader, you are responsible for the organisation, performance and development of your team.

You support buyers in their daily activities, assist them in the most strategic negotiations and ensure the skills development of each member. Your role is not limited to management: you directly participate in decisions that commit the company by defining purchasing directions and securing partnerships with key suppliers.

You work closely with the Technical Office, Industrialisation, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Sales teams to integrate purchasing issues from the earliest project phases and ensure the availability of the most suitable technical solutions.

On a daily basis, you prioritise tasks, support sensitive projects and ensure the achievement of objectives in terms of quality, costs, deadlines and risk management.

Your daily life

You lead and develop a team of technical buyers by creating an environment that fosters autonomy, responsibility and the sharing of best practices.

You define purchasing strategies by product families and identify levers to sustainably improve the company’s competitiveness.

You participate in development projects in collaboration with technical teams, bringing your expertise on supplier selection, industrial risk analysis and optimisation opportunities.

You manage the most strategic tenders and directly intervene in high-stakes negotiations, both on technical and commercial aspects.

You develop lasting relationships with industrial partners, conduct supplier visits and carry out audits when necessary to secure supplies and guarantee the expected performance level.

You monitor purchasing indicators, analyse supplier performance and implement necessary improvement plans in collaboration with various departments.

Finally, you maintain constant market, new technology and industrial development watch to anticipate future needs and support the company’s development strategy.

Your profile

You have a higher technical education, ideally complemented by a specialisation in purchasing, Supply Chain, management or engineering.

You have proven experience in industrial purchasing, complemented by a successful initial experience in management or team coordination.

You master complex industrial environments and are comfortable interacting with design offices, project teams and international suppliers.

You are recognised for your leadership, your ability to unite teams and your aptitude to support change.

A skilled negotiator, you know how to defend your company’s interests while building lasting relationships with your partners.

Your analytical mind, decision-making ability and strategic vision enable you to effectively intervene on topics with high technical and economic stakes.
