Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for a Project Engineer / Junior Project Manager Tunnel Construction for the planning and handling of demanding infrastructure projects in tunnel, underground, and specialised deep construction. You will work on technically complex projects from design to execution and gradually take on your own project responsibility. The focus is on modern planning methods such as BIM, geotechnical issues, and collaboration with interdisciplinary engineering and planning teams. The position is suitable for ambitious career starters as well as civil engineers with initial experience in infrastructure or underground construction.
Responsibilities:
Planning and handling demanding infrastructure, tunnel, and underground construction projects across various project phases
Participation in the design and dimensioning of underground structures, tunnel systems, and specialised deep construction structures
Handling technical issues in the areas of tunnel construction, geotechnics, and civil engineering
Application of modern digital planning methods and participation in BIM-based planning processes
Creation and coordination of plans, technical reports, calculations, and project documentation
Participation in variant studies, feasibility analyses, and technical concepts
Coordination of project and planning interfaces with internal departments, external planners, and other project participants
Support in tendering, submissions, and execution planning for complex infrastructure projects
Handling projects considering relevant SIA standards, technical guidelines, and project-specific requirements
Gradual assumption of subproject and project management tasks including schedule, quality, and cost control
Collaboration with interdisciplinary and international project teams at different locations
Qualifications:
Completed studies as a Civil Engineer ETH/FH (MSc) or comparable higher education in geotechnics, engineering geology, or civil engineering
Career entry or initial professional experience in planning infrastructure, tunnel, underground, or specialised deep construction projects
Technical fundamentals in geotechnics, structural engineering, and/or tunnel construction
Knowledge of modern BIM and CAD planning methods is an advantage
Knowledge of relevant SIA standards and Swiss planning processes is an advantage
Very good German skills and ideally good English skills
