Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for a qualified specialist for the planning, design and realisation of demanding hydraulic engineering and hydropower projects in a specialised Swiss engineering environment. You will take on diverse tasks in the conceptual, execution and detailed planning of hydropower plants, power station buildings and hydraulic infrastructures. Depending on your professional experience, you will be responsible for independent projects from technical conception through design to structural implementation. The position combines structural civil engineering, hydraulic and construction planning, CAD-supported project work as well as sustainable energy infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Independent planning and design of hydraulic engineering and hydropower plants across several SIA project phases from preliminary study to realisation

• Development of conceptual, construction project, execution and detailed plans for power station buildings and hydraulic engineering structures

• Structural planning of water intakes, pressure pipelines, power station buildings, intake structures and other hydraulic structures

• Creation and coordination of technical drawings, construction details and execution plans using appropriate CAD systems

• Participation in hydraulic, static and structural calculations as well as in the technical dimensioning of hydraulic structures

• Preparation of feasibility studies, variant comparisons and technical concepts for new construction, expansion and renovation projects in the field of hydropower

• Preparation of technical reports, design documents, cost estimates and tender documents

• Project management and technical coordination of hydraulic engineering and power station projects considering costs, deadlines, quality and technical requirements

• Coordination with clients, specialist planners, authorities and contractors as well as coordination of interfaces between civil engineering, hydraulics and power station technology

• Technical supervision of construction execution including site inspections, execution clarifications and quality assurance

• Planning and assessment of renovation and maintenance measures on existing hydropower plants and hydraulic structures

• Consideration of relevant SIA standards, water protection requirements and hydraulic safety regulations during design and realisation

Qualifications:

• Completed education as a civil engineer ETH/FH, technician HF construction planning or certified construction manager or comparable construction-technical qualification

• Professional experience in structural civil engineering, civil engineering or hydraulic engineering, ideally related to hydropower plants and power station buildings

• Knowledge in conceptual, execution and detailed planning as well as in technical design of civil engineering structures

• Good CAD skills, for example AutoCAD, Civil 3D or comparable systems, as well as confident use of Microsoft Office

• Basic knowledge in hydraulics, reinforced concrete construction, geotechnics and hydraulic structures, depending on educational background

• Knowledge of Swiss SIA standards and construction processes as well as experience in project management, tendering or construction execution is an advantage

• Good German language skills in spoken and written form for technical reports, project documents and specialist coordination
