Network Engineer (m/f/d)

Role:
Networks are the backbone of every digital infrastructure. As a Network Engineer (Firewall & Routing), you are responsible for the design, operation, and further development of data centre, site, and office networks. Routing with BGP, firewall policies, and segmented networks are part of your daily work. You can expect a technically demanding environment with a lot of personal responsibility.
Responsibilities:
You operate and configure switches, routers, and firewalls in a distributed infrastructure.
You manage VLANs, routing, NAT, IP address spaces, as well as site-to-site and remote-access VPNs.
Furthermore, you plan architectural changes, upgrades, and lifecycle measures in the network.
In case of faults, you analyse routing, latency, packet loss, DNS, and connectivity, among other things with Wireshark.
Additionally, you monitor availability, performance, and capacity including documentation and configuration backups.
You also drive segmentation, hardening, and the remediation of vulnerabilities and participate in occasional on-call duties.
Qualifications:
You have solid practical knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, switching, and routing.
You confidently use firewalls, NAT, access controls, and VPN technologies.
Experience with Cisco or comparable enterprise network technology distinguishes you; knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of Linux and virtualisation environments rounds off your profile.
Furthermore, you impress with analytical thinking, team spirit, and clear communication.
You also have a technical education or further training in IT or networking and communicate confidently in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
