On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced and creatively skilled professional for the project management of demanding architecture and building projects in the Bern area. You will accompany diverse construction projects from the initial design to the structural realisation, focusing particularly on conversions, renovations, and the sensitive handling of protected building fabric. The focus is on independent project management across all relevant SIA phases, the development of architecturally convincing solutions, and the constructively precise implementation of existing and new building structures. The position combines creative design work, sound execution planning, and holistic project management with the opportunity to independently shape projects within a small, committed planning team.

Independent management of demanding architectural projects in new construction, conversion, and renovation with a special focus on building preservation and protected building fabric
Overall responsibility for architectural project processing across all relevant SIA service phases from design through planning to execution
Development and further processing of architectural design concepts considering aesthetic, functional, constructive, and economic requirements
Analysis of existing buildings and historic building fabric as well as development of appropriate conversion, maintenance, and further development concepts
Creation and coordination of preliminary project, construction project, approval, and execution plans including constructive and architectural detail development
Processing of digital architectural models and planning documents with Vectorworks, preferably using 3D modelling and model-based planning methods
Professional coordination of internal project staff as well as external specialist planners and experts to ensure integrated project processing
Coordination of construction projects with authorities, specialist offices, and, if applicable, monument preservation, taking into account building law and monument preservation requirements
Management of project organisation, schedules, planning services, and quality objectives as well as monitoring agreed project milestones
Development of constructive and material-appropriate detailed solutions for the high-quality connection of existing building structures with contemporary structural interventions
Preparation and leadership of project and coordination meetings as well as professional communication with clients, specialist planners, and executing companies
Support during construction execution and ensuring architectural quality through technical clarifications, plan adjustments, and coordination with site management
Qualifications:
Completed architecture studies at ETH or FH or a comparable recognised higher education qualification in architecture
Several years of professional experience in Switzerland in project management and planning of demanding building projects with solid practice across all relevant SIA service phases
Experience in conversion, renovation, or building preservation as well as interest in careful handling of historic and protected building fabric
Sound knowledge of Swiss construction and planning processes, relevant SIA standards, as well as approval, execution, and detail planning
Confident use of common CAD and digital planning tools, ideally Vectorworks with 3D modelling, as well as good constructive and spatial understanding
Strong architectural quality awareness, creative design competence, and organisational skills as well as an independent, reliable, and responsible working style
Very good German language skills in spoken and written form for project coordination and communication as well as teamwork, initiative, and enjoyment of collaboration in a small, interdisciplinary planning team
Benefits:
- Interesting and varied activities/projects
- Attractive training and development opportunities
- Experienced and dynamic team
- Market- and performance-based salaries
