What you can look forward to.
We set the signals to green for the railways: SBB Infrastructure builds, operates and maintains the SBB rail network – one of the busiest networks in Europe. Around 9,000 employees ensure around the clock that passengers and goods arrive safely, punctually and reliably. The Contracts and Network Access division of Infrastructure Timetable and Operations creates and manages contracts at the interface with other infrastructures. Our core task is to contractually secure the interests of SBB. This ensures safe railway operations, preserves future expansion possibilities and clearly regulates cost responsibility. Our partners include municipalities, cantons, private individuals as well as other railway companies and infrastructure operators. The position offers an attractive professional perspective: depending on education, professional experience and existing expertise, direct employment as a Contract Specialist is possible. Otherwise, you will gradually develop as a Contract Manager and take on additional professional responsibility with increasing experience.
What you can achieve.
- You create and manage infrastructure contracts based on existing contract templates, such as siding contracts, network connection contracts and object contracts. You coordinate the content with internal SBB partners and ensure correct invoicing.
- You answer questions about infrastructure contracts within your area of responsibility and clarify technical, business or legal issues with the responsible internal specialist departments.
- You review construction projects by third parties near the railway to determine which SBB interests need to be contractually secured and ensure their appropriate consideration.
- You prepare negotiations with cantons, municipalities, private individuals and other companies and support internal partners during their execution.
- Within the framework of SBB studies and projects, you analyse contractual needs, advise project management and accompany the implementation of the required contracts.
- You participate in specialist groups on overarching topics, for example in the development and further development of contract bases and processes as well as on fundamental issues in the siding area. In addition, you represent your team colleagues during absences and ensure the smooth continuation of ongoing business.
What you bring with you.
- You convince with strong communication and advisory skills as well as a confident written style in dealing with internal and external partners.
- Thanks to your quick comprehension, you can grasp, structure and solve technical, business and legal issues involving the responsible specialists. Assertiveness, negotiation skills, initiative and a careful, reliable working style are among your strengths.
- You are proficient with common Microsoft Office applications and quickly familiarise yourself with new systems and processes.
- You have completed commercial or comparable vocational training and have several years of professional experience. Experience in the railway, infrastructure, real estate or contract environment is an advantage.
- You are fluent in French, ideally at C2 level, and have good German skills. Knowledge of Italian is not a requirement but a great advantage.
- For direct employment as a Contract Specialist, you ideally have higher professional training or a university degree as well as solid experience in independently handling complex contractual, legal or infrastructural issues.
