Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for a qualified professional for the site management and coordination of diverse building construction projects in an established, nationally active construction management company. You will accompany demanding new builds, conversions and renovations and gradually take on independent responsibility for the operational site management. The focus is on coordinating and supervising contractors, optimising construction processes, and controlling quality, deadlines and costs. The position is particularly suitable for construction professionals with a completed EFZ qualification who already have some site management experience or who wish to specifically develop in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with site management of new build, conversion and renovation projects in residential, commercial and general building construction

• Coordinating and supervising the executing contractors and trades on site

• Organising and managing daily construction processes including work preparation, deployment planning and coordination of various trades

• Monitoring quality, deadlines and costs as well as early detection and handling of deviations in the construction process

• Creating, checking and updating construction programmes and schedules in collaboration with the responsible project and site management

• Conducting regular site inspections to check execution quality, occupational safety and compliance with technical requirements

• Supporting contractor negotiations and awarding including obtaining and reviewing offers as well as coordinating scopes of services

• Checking execution plans and technical documents and coordinating plan adjustments with architects and specialist planners

• Organising and recording construction meetings as well as following up on pending issues, contractor services and agreed measures

• Contributing to construction cost controlling including quantity controls, invoice checks and documentation of additional costs

• Accompanying construction acceptance and defect rectification as well as supporting the preparation of acceptance and handover documents

• Gradually taking on independent site management tasks and responsibility for individual construction sections or smaller building projects

Qualifications:

• Completed vocational training EFZ in construction, for example as a draughtsperson EFZ specialising in architecture, carpenter EFZ or bricklayer EFZ

• Initial professional experience in site management or site coordination is an advantage; experienced construction professionals interested in entering site management are also welcome

• Knowledge of construction processes in Swiss building construction, especially for new builds, conversions and renovations

• Basic knowledge of relevant SIA standards, especially SIA 118, as well as execution and contract foundations

• Knowledge in scheduling, quality control, contractor coordination and construction cost monitoring or willingness for corresponding professional development

• Confident use of MS Office and digital plan documents; knowledge of Messerli construction administration or comparable construction software is an advantage

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form for site coordination, construction meetings and technical project documentation
