Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional as Project Manager Railway Construction to lead demanding infrastructure projects from planning to realisation. You will take on the overall coordination of railway projects and be responsible for quality, deadlines, costs, and safety. As a central interface, you coordinate clients, specialist planners, and railway technical services and ensure structured project execution. The role combines civil engineering, project management, and railway infrastructure with high professional responsibility.
Responsibilities:
Management and coordination of demanding railway and infrastructure projects from planning to realisation
Assumption of overall project management and control of all involved specialist disciplines and project partners
Responsibility for quality, deadlines, costs, and safety within the assigned projects
Management of planning according to relevant SIA phases and ensuring defined planning milestones
Coordination of clients, engineers, specialist planners, authorities, and railway technical services
Handling and coordination of interfaces between civil engineering, track construction, overhead lines, signalling systems, and other railway technology trades
Creation and monitoring of project schedules, cost forecasts, project budgets, and risk assessments
Ensuring compliance with relevant SIA standards, railway-specific regulations, and safety requirements
Preparation and support of tenders, bids, and awards for planning and construction services
Conducting and leading project, coordination, and planning meetings and ensuring technical documentation
Supporting execution, commissioning, and project handover in collaboration with construction management and involved specialist departments
Qualifications:
Completed studies as Civil Engineer FH/ETH or comparable technical education
Several years of experience in managing railway or rail infrastructure projects in Switzerland
Solid knowledge in planning, project control, cost and schedule management
Knowledge of relevant SIA standards as well as Swiss regulations and processes in railway construction
Experience in coordinating railway technical services and interdisciplinary planning teams
Knowledge of tendering and contract management for infrastructure projects
Very good German language skills spoken and written
