HSBC Private Bank Switzerland is looking for an experienced Finance professional The role offers the opportunity to work across two complementary areas: using data and management information to support business decisions, while also performing daily product control activities that protect the integrity of financial results.

What you will do:
Based in Finance, the Business Finance & Product Control Analyst will work closely with Front Office, Product teams, Operations and other stakeholders in a complex, international environment. The role would suit a professional with relevant experience in both Business Finance and Product Control, or with strong experience in one area and a demonstrable ability to contribute effectively to the other.
In addition, you’ll help ensure that financial information is accurate, meaningful and delivered on time. You’ll analyse performance trends, support reporting and planning, and contribute to the daily control framework for relevant products and financial results.
This is a hands-on role requiring sound financial judgement, attention to detail and the ability to move comfortably between data analysis, stakeholder engagement and control execution.
In this role you will:
- Produce and validate financial information, management accounts and recurring Finance deliverables for the Swiss booking centre and relevant entities
- Prepare management reporting on revenue, profitability, costs, balance sheet, capital metrics, client assets and Net New Money
- Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, variances, key drivers and emerging issues, providing clear insights and recommendations
- Perform daily product control activities, reviewing financial results, investigating movements and breaks, and completing independent checks
- Maintain accurate, timely and well-evidenced controls, including escalation of discrepancies, month-end support, documentation and audit trails
- Follow policies and regulatory requirements, resolve control and audit issues, drive process improvements and collaborate with Finance and wider stakeholders across Switzerland, EMEA and globally
You should apply if you have:
- Previous background in Finance, Business Finance, Product Control, Financial Control, management reporting or a related discipline
- Experience in banking, financial services or another highly controlled financial environment
- Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) language
- Ideally, experience spanning both: 1) Business Finance, management information and performance analysis; and 2) Product Control, including daily product control checks and investigation of financial results
- Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to work confidently with large datasets and identify meaningful business drivers
- Experience producing management information, dashboards, reporting packs and senior management presentations
- Practical experience performing daily controls, investigating breaks and explaining profit and loss or balance sheet movements
- A strong understanding of financial control principles, data quality and the importance of robust evidence and audit trails
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to learn new Finance systems, reporting tools and technologies quickly
- Experience with data modelling, reporting automation or visualisation tools would be an advantage
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to both Finance and non-Finance audiences
- The ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands and deliver accurately under time pressure
- A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with the confidence to challenge data, processes and results constructively
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively in a global, matrix organisation
- Knowledge of Private Banking products and processes would be an advantage
- Fluency in English; knowledge of French or German would be beneficial
