Around 700 employees from engineering, product management, manufacturing, logistics, sales, and services work closely together here: engineers continuously develop new solutions, while the production and logistics teams ensure that the sensors arrive at customers on time and in Baumer quality.

Do you want to not only design architecture but also shape it sustainably? In this key role, you will shape the technological future of our embedded products, define standards for scalable software development, and support our international teams in implementing common architectural principles. In doing so, you create the foundation for innovative and future-proof sensor solutions.

What I drive

• Responsibility for the architecture and strategic development of our embedded software platform
• Evaluation of new technologies and definition of future-proof technology standards
• Ensuring high software quality through architecture governance, development guidelines, as well as modern testing and automation concepts
• Coordination of architectural requirements with customers, management, and development teams
• Documentation and communication of technical decisions within the organisation
• Professional development and coaching of distributed development teams across multiple locations

What it takes

• Degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in embedded software development and design of complex software architectures
• Solid knowledge of modern software engineering methods, ideally in the environment of Zephyr RTOS
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as a high quality awareness
• Convincing communication, moderation skills, and enjoyment in leading distributed development teams professionally
• Very good German and English skills
