A versatile challenge for an experienced database engineer with a focus on Microsoft SQL and modern database platforms. You will take technical responsibility for the stable operation, architecture and further development of business-critical database services.
In addition to operational platform management, you can expect demanding architecture and lifecycle projects as well as consulting on technical issues. The role also offers contact with cloud databases and modern integration technologies.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for central database landscapes from technical conception through engineering to ongoing operation
Further development of highly available database architectures and ensuring reliable monitoring
Planning and implementation of migrations, upgrades, lifecycle projects and technical optimisations
Analysis and optimisation of performance, security, availability and disaster recovery concepts
Technical consulting of internal departments on architectural decisions and operational issues
Coordination with external operating partners as well as support with integration topics and on-call duties
Qualifications:
Higher education in computer science, systems engineering or a comparable qualification
Several years of practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server, especially AlwaysOn and highly available environments
Very good knowledge in performance optimisation, database security, upgrades and disaster recovery
Experience with T-SQL and PowerShell as well as, advantageously, knowledge of Oracle, MariaDB or MySQL
Experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instances; knowledge of Kafka or IBM webMethods ESB is a plus
Very good German skills and good English skills as well as strong communication and teamwork abilities
