The Operations Department manages and operates the real estate infrastructure and user services at EPFL. It consists of around 80 employees active in HVAC-MCR techniques and Building Maintenance.
Your tasks and responsibilities as an operations electrician will be to:
- Carry out electrical installations, preventive and corrective maintenance operations on building installations, ensure the legal compliance of electrical work according to OIBT standards
- Prepare OIBT measurement reports following these electrical installation works
- Ensure troubleshooting of electrical installations on the EPFL site
- Perform small electrical installations in EPFL buildings
- Provide and assume a 24/7 rotating on-call service
- Carry out maintenance and operation work on the site's electrical installations
- Perform work related to machine installations and peripheral equipment
- Supervise external electrical companies for small-scale electrical work
- Install the electrical equipment and materials necessary for events and functions
- Carry out work related to the setup of temporary installations for construction sites
- Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC) as an electrician installer or equivalent recognised by ESTI
- Holder of an OIBT authorisation according to art. 13, or eligible
- Knowledge of NIBT 2020
- Willingness to work occasionally at night or on weekends and to work shifts as required
- At least 2 years of experience in electrical installation maintenance in industry or building
- Calm and thoughtful personality, rigorous, meticulous and methodical
- Knowledge of English is an advantage
- Category B driving licence essential
