Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for a qualified professional as an architect / construction manager for a well-established architectural firm focusing on holistic architectural planning and demanding construction project implementation. You will accompany diverse building projects from the initial design idea through project, detailed and execution planning to structural realisation and take responsibility both in planning and on site. The focus is on developing constructive solutions, coordinating specialist planners and contractors, and ensuring costs, deadlines and execution quality. The position combines architectural design, technical planning and operational construction management with a high degree of personal responsibility.

Responsibilities:

• Comprehensive handling of building projects through the relevant SIA phases from design planning to completion and handover

• Development and further processing of architectural designs considering aesthetic, functional, constructive and economic requirements

• Creation of project, building permit, detailed and execution plans including technical planning documents and constructive detail drawings

• Development and implementation of practical construction solutions focusing on materialisation, building physics, feasibility and architectural quality

• Independent construction management and coordination of construction execution including organisation of site processes and coordination of all involved trades

• Coordination of specialist planners, experts and executing companies to ensure professional and timely project execution

• Cost planning and construction cost control including checking of offers, contractor invoices, change orders and cost developments

• Creation and monitoring of schedules and construction programmes as well as coordination of planning and execution milestones

• Quality assurance on site through regular execution checks, review of constructive details and support of technical inspections

• Collaboration with clients and authorities on project coordination, building law issues and technical decision-making processes

• Preparation and coordination of tender and award documents as well as support in the selection and commissioning of executing companies

• Support during construction acceptance and project completion including defect management, final documentation and ensuring conformity between planning and execution

Qualifications:

• Completed architecture studies at ETH or FH or equivalent recognised university degree in architecture

• Several years of professional experience in Swiss architectural practice with a focus on planning and realisation of building projects

• Practical experience in construction management as well as coordination of contractors and specialist planners during the execution phase

• Sound knowledge in detailed and execution planning, construction, materialisation and technical implementation of architectural concepts

• Confident use of CAD software, especially ArchiCAD is an advantage, as well as experience in digital plan processing

• Good knowledge of Swiss SIA standards, construction processes and basics of cost, schedule and quality management

• Good German language skills in spoken and written form for technical project coordination and construction administration
