Exciting tasks await:

• Maintenance of the living and non-living teaching collection (animal terrariums and aquariums – feeding and care of the animals, maintenance of unicellular cultures)
• Maintenance of the biology laboratory: cleaning of glassware & measuring instruments; purchasing of consumables, cleaning of equipment, etc.
• Procurement, preparation and follow-up of teaching materials for practical lessons (including microbiology, molecular biology, physiology & anatomy, botany, histology)
• Management of departmental credit and ordering system, inventory control of chemicals

What you bring:

• Commitment in all the mentioned work areas
• Completed apprenticeship and work experience in a profession involving laboratory work desirable
• Initiative and good self-organisation
• Cooperative work in a two-person biology laboratory team, with biology teachers and also with laboratory teams from other departments

Your working environment

The Alte Kantonsschule Aarau is located in a historic park next to Aarau station, five minutes from the town centre. As a school that is both traditional and innovative, we run, alongside the grammar school, a commercial secondary school (WMS) and an IT secondary school (IMS). Our approximately 1400 pupils are taught and supported by around 180 motivated teachers.
