A versatile challenge for an experienced IT specialist with a focus on datacentres, virtualisation and on-premise infrastructures. In this role, you take technical responsibility for platforms that must ensure high availability and security even under demanding operating conditions.
The focus is on further developing the virtualisation landscape, lifecycle management, automation and the technical optimisation of the infrastructure. Collaboration with specialists from network, storage and other ICT areas is also part of the responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Technical planning and further development of datacentre and virtualisation platforms in isolated on-premise environments
Responsibility for the setup, configuration, operation and lifecycle of the virtual server and client infrastructure
Development and implementation of standards for availability, security, data integrity and efficient operational processes
Support of the VMware-based virtualisation platform including integration of network, storage and authentication components
Analysis of complex performance and infrastructure issues as well as conducting capacity analyses and technical optimisations
Collaboration with internal infrastructure teams, automation of recurring tasks and ensuring complete technical documentation
Qualifications:
Higher education in computer science or a comparable technical qualification with extensive practical experience in virtualisation
Several years of experience in operating and further developing on-premise IT platforms
Very good knowledge of Broadcom VMware and ideally practical experience with VCF and NSX
Experience with vSAN, SAN/FC, block storage, filer and S3 solutions as well as Cisco Intersight is an advantage
Knowledge in infrastructure automation with Ansible, Terraform or comparable tools and strong security awareness
Very good German and good English skills, high personal responsibility as well as willingness for on-call duty, maintenance assignments and occasional deployments at various locations
