Construction Manager (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced professional for construction management in building construction with a focus on new builds, conversions, renovations and refurbishments. You will independently organise, coordinate and supervise demanding private and public construction projects from execution planning to completion. The focus is on local construction management, cost, schedule and quality control as well as coordination of contractors, specialist planners and clients. The position offers a varied field of activity with high personal responsibility and the opportunity to successfully implement demanding construction projects in a well-coordinated planning team.

Responsibilities:

• Independent local construction management in building construction with responsibility for organising and supervising private and public construction projects

• Implementation of new build, conversion and refurbishment projects taking into account technical, economic and design requirements

• Coordination of all contractors and trades with alignment of trades and ensuring efficient site operations

• Scheduling and construction process control including creation, monitoring and updating of project-specific construction programmes

• Construction cost control and budget monitoring including checking contractor services, change orders and project-related billing

• Quality assurance during construction with monitoring of agreed execution standards and compliance with relevant Swiss building standards

• Tendering and awarding management including preparation and review of specifications, evaluation of offers and award proposals

• Construction administration with Messerli-BAUAD for processing tenders, cost controls, contractor billing and project documentation

• Leading and minute-taking of construction meetings with clients, architects, specialist planners and executing companies

• Coordination of technical interfaces between architectural planning, specialist planning and construction execution for early clarification of structural issues

• Organisation of construction inspections and defect management with control of completed work and monitoring of defect rectification

• Support of project handover and final accounting ensuring complete construction documentation and proper completion

Qualifications:

• Completed further education as a federally certified construction manager in building construction or a comparable construction-technical qualification with many years of practical professional experience

• Several years of solid construction management experience in Switzerland with knowledge in the implementation of new builds, conversions, renovations and refurbishments

• Comprehensive expertise in Swiss building construction with a confident understanding of construction processes, structures, execution details and relevant SIA standards

• Very good knowledge of Messerli-BAUAD and Microsoft Office for construction administration, tenders, cost control and project documentation

• Experience in cost, schedule and quality management as well as independent coordination of contractors and specialist planners

• Independent, structured and responsible working style with high initiative, teamwork, organisational skills and personal commitment

• Very good German language skills, spoken and written for professional communication with clients, authorities, specialist planners and contractors
