Role:

On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional as Project Manager Rail Construction for the overall management of diverse projects in the field of rail and transport infrastructure. You will accompany demanding projects from the initial project idea through planning and design to realisation, taking responsibility for quality, deadlines, costs, and safety. As the central contact person, you coordinate clients, specialist planners, and rail technology specialist services and ensure a structured, phase-appropriate project execution. The position offers a responsible role at the interface between civil engineering, rail infrastructure, and interdisciplinary project management.

Responsibilities:

• Assuming overall project management of rail and infrastructure projects from design to realisation

• Responsibility for quality, deadlines, costs, and safety as well as ongoing monitoring of defined project objectives

• Management and coordination of design along the relevant SIA phases and planning milestones

• Leadership and coordination of interdisciplinary planning teams, specialist planners, and external experts

• Central contact person for clients, principals, authorities, and other project participants

• Coordination of interfaces between civil engineering, track construction, overhead lines, signalling systems, and other rail technology specialist services

• Preparation and monitoring of schedule programmes, project budgets, cost forecasts, and risk assessments

• Ensuring compliance with SIA standards, rail-specific requirements, approval procedures, and safety requirements

• Preparation and support of tenders, bids, and awards for planning and construction services

• Leading project, planning, and coordination meetings and ensuring comprehensible project documentation

• Supporting execution, commissioning, and project handover in coordination with construction management, clients, and specialist services

Qualifications:

• Completed studies as Civil Engineer FH/ETH or comparable technical education

• Several years of experience in project management of rail or rail infrastructure projects

• Sound knowledge in project management, design, cost and schedule control

• Knowledge of relevant SIA standards and rail-specific regulations in the Swiss infrastructure environment

• Experience in coordinating interdisciplinary planning teams and rail technology specialist services

• Knowledge of tendering, awarding, and contract management is an advantage

• Very good German language skills spoken and written
