This is what you can look forward to.
An innovative working environment awaits you, where you can drive major changes and thus contribute to safety in rail transport. Together with your team colleagues, you will develop solutions for current challenges and implement them as a team. Attractive working conditions are important to us. Our benefits such as additional child allowances, free 2nd class GA and discounted travel abroad - also for the family - can be found on our website under Benefits .
This is what you can achieve.
- Damage can occur to rails and switches due to rail operations. As an ultrasonic inspector, you check the rails and switches for critical damage using ultrasonic testing devices.
- You assess and classify fault indications according to the specifications. You use the appropriate IT tools for planning and carrying out the inspections as well as for reporting the damage.
- In addition to work on the track, you also lead test runs with the rail inspection train and subsequently check the results on site.
- You carry out this demanding task as a team and support each other. Together you ensure the smooth running of the inspection shift and take on responsibility as safety officer if necessary.
- You ensure that our testing devices always run perfectly: you maintain them regularly and check their function so that everything runs smoothly.
This is what you bring with you.
- You are a reliable, team-oriented person with a strong sense of responsibility and quick comprehension.
- For this position, you need a completed 3 to 4 year vocational training.
- You already have experience in non-destructive material testing (e.g. as an ultrasonic inspector with certification at level 1 according to SN EN ISO 9712) or you are interested in learning about non-destructive testing of rails and switches and obtaining certification. We support you in this.
- You have the ability to interpret ultrasonic test results and possess a robust physical condition. (Year-round work outdoors, occasional night or weekend shifts may be required, high travel activity, operation of testing devices weighing up to 25 kg in the track area). Correct colour vision is necessary.
- You have very good German skills (C1) and hold a category B driving licence.
