About the job
The Youth and Social Cohesion Service is responsible for activities related to childhood and youth, neighbourhoods, extracurricular services, and the youth dental clinic. It also oversees youth policies, integration, the housing office, social cohesion, seniors, and the fight against hardship. In collaboration with numerous associations, it brings together around 250 staff members in a wide range of professional fields.
To meet the needs of children and their families, the city of Yverdon-les-Bains is advertising positions for the Youth and Social Cohesion Service for:
Homework Supervisors
Your main tasks:
- Supervise and support primary school pupils in completing their homework;
- Ensure a calm and conducive atmosphere for learning;
- Demonstrate patience and kindness;
- Check attendance and inform parents of absent children;
- Collaborate with teaching staff and supervisors.
What we expect from you:
- Be at least 20 years old and have experience with children;
- Be comfortable with basic school knowledge and proficient in French (spoken and written);
- Ability to supervise a group of children with kindness;
- Good interpersonal skills and adaptability;
- Sense of responsibility, punctuality, autonomy;
- Interest in education and child supervision;
- Available every day from Monday to Thursday for 1 hour after school, from 3:00 pm and from 1:30 pm on Wednesdays (only applications from those available every day will be considered);
- Commit to a full school year with the possibility of extension;
- Reside in Yverdon-les-Bains or nearby areas.
The activity is paid hourly and represents a minimum of 4 hours per week. It does not take place during school holidays.
