Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for a creative and committed professional for design planning and handling demanding architectural competitions. You will contribute to an interdisciplinary competition team in developing innovative architectural concepts and high-quality design proposals. The focus is on architectural idea generation, spatial and constructive development of designs, and the convincing graphical presentation of competition concepts. The position combines creative design work, conceptual thinking, and architectural design with independent project handling and close professional exchange within a dynamic architectural studio.

Responsibilities:

• Participation in the development and handling of demanding architectural competitions as well as conceptual studies in building construction

• Development of independent architectural design ideas considering urban planning, functional, and design requirements

• Development of spatial and architectural concepts from the initial design sketch to the elaborated competition submission

• Analysis of competition programmes, spatial programmes, and structural conditions as a basis for well-founded design decisions

• Creation of floor plans, sections, elevations, and site plans for precise representation of architectural project ideas

• Development of three-dimensional building models and spatial studies to verify volumetry, proportions, and architectural impact

• Development of façade, materialisation, and design concepts considering constructive and functional interrelations

• Creation of high-quality competition presentations, visualisations, and graphic project documents to convincingly convey architectural concepts

• Verification of the technical and constructive feasibility of design solutions in close coordination with the internal project team

• Integration of sustainable and resource-saving planning approaches in the development of future-proof architectural concepts

• Participation in internal design meetings and project critiques as well as active development of architectural ideas through professional exchange

• Independent handling of defined competition and design tasks including coordination of the required planning and presentation documents

Qualifications:

• Completed architecture studies at ETH or FH or an equivalent recognised higher education qualification in architecture

• Strong passion for architectural design and conceptual project development as well as interest in handling demanding architectural competitions

• Solid architectural and constructive understanding with a confident sense for spatial design, proportions, materialisation, and urban planning contexts

• Good knowledge of digital CAD, 3D modelling, and visualisation programmes as well as experience in the graphical preparation of architectural designs

• Ability to independently develop and convincingly present architectural concepts through plans, models, visualisations, and presentation documents

• Structured, independent, and team-oriented working style as well as willingness to take responsibility within a creative and interdisciplinary competition team

• Good German language skills in spoken and written form for handling competition documents, presenting design concepts, and professional exchange within the project team
