Nurse within the Mobile Emergency Team (EMU) at 80% on a permanent contract
The Mobile Emergency Team (EMU) was established in January 2025 after IMAD positioned itself by offering to participate in the cantonal project "Geneva Emergency Network (RUG+)" (a project aimed at extending emergency response across the canton) through the creation of a mobile team handling non-life-threatening emergencies. Several public and private partners are involved in this project.
This nursing team is integrated into the Mobile Social Emergency Unit (UMUS). The mobile emergency team is responsible for handling emergencies classified as 3 (non-life-threatening emergency, requiring additional examinations and/or investigations) and 4 (emergency without particular risk, care can be deferred).
Your missions and responsibilities
- Assess the nature of the request from a professional at the Triage and Orientation Centre linked to 144 and respond as quickly as possible or direct the situation to a more appropriate service if necessary
- Intervene and jointly conduct an assessment with your nursing partner, bringing your clinical expertise by quickly evaluating the beneficiary’s somatic and psychological health status
- Offer the beneficiary means to reduce the intensity of the perceived emergency
- Take all necessary measures to ensure a stable physical and psychological general condition and, if needed, coordinate the intervention of appropriate medical or paramedical partners
- Produce a written report of each intervention, accurately detailing the assessment, services provided, and the solution(s) chosen by and for the beneficiary
- Ensure coordination and follow-up of situations within the Geneva health-social network
- Use available IT tools to monitor situations
- Evaluate the relevance of the care provided in each intervention and participate in the quality process
- Participate in team meetings and supervisions outside intervention hours
- Actively engage in sessions with partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent qualification
- Minimum two years of professional experience
- Knowledge of the Geneva socio-health network
- Experience or interest in medical emergencies, unscheduled mental health care
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent adaptability and delegation skills
- Sense of responsibility and solution orientation.
