Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced professional as a Project Manager: Architecture / Building Construction for the independent management of diverse construction projects in residential, commercial and industrial construction. You will take overall responsibility for demanding new builds and conversions from project development through planning and realisation to handover. The focus is on coordinating all project participants, client support as well as cost, schedule and quality management across all relevant SIA service phases. Depending on experience and interest, you can also take on construction management tasks and accompany construction projects directly on site.

Responsibilities:

• Project management architecture: Independent leadership and coordination of new build and conversion projects in residential, commercial and industrial construction from project development to handover.

• Project development and concept planning: Preparation of feasibility studies, preliminary projects, construction projects and economically optimised planning solutions.

• Planning across all SIA phases: Management of design, building application, tendering, execution planning and realisation according to the SIA service model.

• Leadership of project participants: Coordination of architects, specialist planners, structural engineers, specialists, contractors and authorities.

• Client support: Central contact person for clients and principals as well as preparation and conduct of project and decision meetings.

• Cost and budget management: Preparation and monitoring of cost estimates, cost quotations, project budgets and cost forecasts.

• Schedule and quality management: Development and control of project schedules, milestones, quality requirements and execution standards.

• Building applications and approval procedures: Coordination of building applications, official clarifications and building law requirements.

• Execution and detailed planning: Monitoring of working plans, technical detail development, plan quality and interfaces with specialist planners.

• Tendering and awarding: Support or responsibility for tenders, specifications, offer comparisons and awarding recommendations, possibly with Messerli Bauad.

• Construction management and execution coordination: Taking over site coordination, contractor management, construction inspections and approvals with appropriate experience.

• Project completion and handover: Organisation of inspections, defect rectifications, final documentation and building handovers.

Qualifications:

• Completed architecture studies ETH/FH, further training as a certified technician HF construction planning or training as a construction manager SBA or equivalent qualification.

• Several years of professional experience in the Swiss architecture and construction industry, preferably in project management of residential, commercial or industrial buildings.

• Sound knowledge of all relevant SIA service phases, especially design, tendering, execution planning and realisation.

• Experience in project management, including coordination of specialist planners, cost planning, schedule control and quality assurance.

• Good knowledge of Swiss building legislation, SIA standards, approval procedures and construction regulations.

• User knowledge in ArchiCAD and Messerli Bauad is an advantage as well as confident handling of digital planning and project documents.

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form for client communication, authority coordination and project negotiations.
