Rethink cloud infrastructure, consistently drive automation and develop productive platforms from technological ideas: This role is aimed at an experienced individual with a strong architectural understanding and a passion for technically simplifying complex IT landscapes.
Responsibilities:
Development of an overarching cloud and automation architecture for modern application landscapes
Definition of technical standards for cloud, containers, infrastructure and automated software delivery
Design of scalable platform architectures based on Azure, Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code
Building a consistent automation landscape for provisioning, configuration, deployment and operation
Development of Golden Paths and standardised platform components for software and DevOps teams
Analysis of existing processes with the aim of consistently replacing manual activities through automation
Development of prototypes for new technologies and evaluation of their technical and economic feasibility
Transition of suitable innovations from the experimental phase to scalable enterprise solutions
Further development of deployment pipelines and automated release processes
Building platform and infrastructure templates with Terraform
Design of Kubernetes architectures including networking, security, scaling and lifecycle management
Evaluation and integration of service mesh, API and observability technologies
Establishment of security-by-design principles in cloud and platform architectures
Support in architectural decisions around hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructures
Development of engineering guidelines for reusable and maintainable platform components
Use of AI and LLM technologies to make development, operations and automation processes smarter
Technical consulting of engineering teams and promotion of a modern platform culture
Qualifications:
Several years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Architect or similar
Deep understanding of Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures
Very good knowledge of Microsoft Azure
Solid experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
Practical knowledge of GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or comparable CI/CD platforms
Good understanding of network architectures, cloud security and distributed systems
Experience with automation and infrastructure provisioning
Good programming or scripting skills, preferably Python, Go, Bash or PowerShell
Experience with architectural and technology decisions in complex IT environments
Ideally knowledge in service mesh, GitOps or platform engineering
Interest in AI-supported automation, LLMs and autonomous engineering workflows
Structured and analytical thinking with a strong quality focus
Enjoyment in not only defining technical standards but implementing them sustainably
