Web applications and digital identities are central attack surfaces of modern IT landscapes. This position is aimed at security engineers who design access models, authentication, and application security at an enterprise level while ensuring the stable operation of critical platforms.
Responsibilities:
Development and further development of a modern platform for application security and identity management
Securing business-critical web applications and APIs
Design and operation of highly available WAF infrastructures
Development, testing, and continuous optimisation of security policies and rule sets
Building secure authentication and authorisation concepts
Integration of central identity services into heterogeneous application landscapes
Implementation of modern zero-trust principles for identities and application access
Introduction and further development of SSO and MFA concepts
Connecting applications via SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect
Investigation of security logs and identification of suspicious access patterns
Support of the security operations team in complex incidents
Conducting technical security assessments and vulnerability analyses
Optimisation of the platform regarding performance, availability, and security
Planning and implementation of upgrades, security patches, and technical changes
Consulting engineering and application teams on secure-by-design issues
Documentation of architectures, security policies, and technical operational processes
Qualifications:
Several years of professional experience in cyber security, application security, or IAM
In-depth experience with web application firewalls and their rule sets
Solid knowledge of identity and access management concepts
Very good knowledge of modern authentication and authorisation methods
Expertise in OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML 2.0
Very good understanding of HTTP/S, TCP/IP, and TLS
Experience with certificates and cryptographic fundamentals
Knowledge of REST, APIs, and modern web technologies
Experience with security monitoring, log analysis, and incident response
Understanding of zero-trust architectures and secure-by-design
Strong ability to analyse complex security problems in a structured manner
Calm and solution-oriented approach even in critical technical situations
High initiative and interest in new cyber security technologies
