Role:

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced professional as a Construction Manager: Building Construction for the realisation of demanding and architecturally high-quality construction projects. You will take on the operational site management and coordinate contractors, specialist planners and other project participants from the execution phase to handover. You will be responsible in particular for deadlines, costs, quality and execution coordination and ensure the implementation of planning and architectural requirements. Depending on experience, you will gradually take on additional responsibility within the project and construction management.

Responsibilities:

• Independent site management of demanding building construction projects from execution to acceptance and handover

• Coordination and leadership of contractors, trades, specialist planners and suppliers on site

• Creation, monitoring and ongoing updating of construction programmes, schedules and execution plans

• Ensuring the professional implementation of architectural, detail and execution planning on site

• Responsibility for compliance with quality, costs, deadlines and occupational safety

• Leading construction meetings, taking minutes and consistently following up on outstanding issues

• Coordination of interfaces between architecture, structural engineering, building services and executing companies

• Review of quantities, extra work, change orders and contractor invoices

• Support for tendering, offer comparisons and awards as well as assistance with the technical evaluation of offers

• Conducting quality controls and inspections and coordinating defect rectification

• Monitoring execution with regard to relevant SIA standards, contracts and official requirements

• Organisation of commissioning, final inspections and building handovers including final documentation

Qualifications:

• Completed training in building construction, for example as a draftsperson EFZ specialising in architecture, with further training as a construction manager or technician HF building construction; alternatively a degree in architecture or civil engineering FH/ETH

• Professional experience in construction management and realisation of building construction projects in Switzerland

• Knowledge of scheduling, cost control, quantities, change management and construction administration

• Sound knowledge of relevant SIA standards and Swiss construction processes

• Experience in coordinating contractors, specialist planners and building services trades

• Familiarity with industry-standard construction administration, scheduling and office software

• Very good German language skills, Swiss German an advantage
