Apprentice Commercial Employee

The HEMU and Lausanne Conservatory Foundation (HEMU-CL) brings together two complementary institutions that actively contribute to musical education and cultural life in French-speaking Switzerland.

Present in three cantons — Vaud, Valais and Fribourg — HEMU – Haute École de Musique trains professional musicians in classical music, jazz and contemporary music. It welcomes 520 students from 45 nationalities. The Lausanne Conservatory provides non-professional musical training to 1,270 pupils and also offers support programmes for young talents.

For the 2027 academic year, we are looking for a:

During your three years of training, you will work within various departments such as human resources, student services, production, communication and accounting. You will thus develop a variety of skills and an overall understanding of how a cultural institution operates.

Concerts, musical weekends, discovery classes and cultural events punctuate the life of our institution. By joining our team, you will be able to discover the behind-the-scenes of these projects and contribute to their organisation, while developing your commercial and administrative skills in a stimulating cultural environment.

Your main tasks

• Managing incoming and outgoing mail
• Participating in various accounting tasks
• Ensuring the complete management of the storeroom and stock monitoring
• Organising, filing and archiving documents, both physical and digital
• Writing and formatting administrative documents (letters, emails, certificates, etc.)
• Creating and updating lists and Excel spreadsheets
• Participating in the creation of communication materials (classified ads, flyers, posters)
• Contributing to the organisation of concerts, musical weekends and other events

Your skills

• Excellent command of French; knowledge of other languages is an asset
• Curious, motivated and organised nature
• Good interpersonal skills and open-mindedness
• Team spirit and sense of collaboration
• Good command of common IT tools
• Desire to learn and develop new skills
• Interest in music; musical sensitivity is an asset
