AI Platform Engineer
With us, you actively shape the future in the field of Artificial Intelligence! You are significantly involved in the operation and further development of our AI Platform (OnPrem & Cloud) and drive it forward together with the committed (internal / external) team. We are looking for a personality who never loses sight of the essentials when diving into concepts and code.
What you will achieve
- You are responsible for the operation and further development of the hybrid AI platform (OpenShift & Azure) and ensure stability, scalability, high availability and efficient GPU utilisation.
- You ensure the smooth operation of the AI operations stack (e.g. MLflow, Dagster, vLLM, Triton).
- You are responsible for the deployment and serving of LLM and ML models both on the on-premises platform (OpenShift) and via Azure services (e.g. Azure AI Foundry).
- Operation and optimisation of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code. You define deployment & configuration standards and ensure security, compliance and vulnerability management.
- You ensure a robust data foundation (RDBMS, object storage, NoSQL, backup & recovery) and accompany migrations from and between on-premises and Azure.
- You further develop the AI platform into existing observability stacks and ensure stable platform operation (OpenTelemetry, Splunk, Dynatrace, Azure Monitor).
What you bring
- Education: Master’s degree (university, university of applied sciences)
- Field: Computer Science / Informatics
- Professional experience: At least 5 years in AI engineering / DevOps
- Several years of experience in building and operating AI platforms in hybrid environments with a focus on scalability, automation and high availability.
- Very good knowledge of containerisation, orchestration, automation and deployment patterns (e.g. Kubernetes/OpenShift, AKS, Helm, CI/CD).
- Experience with GPU compute and AI inferencing (e.g. Nvidia GPU Operator, vLLM, Triton) and Azure services (e.g. Azure ML, Azure OpenAI).
- Knowledge in MLOps and agentic AI, especially experiment tracking (e.g. MLflow), orchestration of ML pipelines (e.g. Dagster, Azure ML) as well as design and operation of AI agents.
- Good knowledge of databases, object storage, data lifecycle, backup & recovery, monitoring as well as security, vulnerability and identity management (e.g. Azure AD).
