The Swiss Institute of Comparative Law (ISDC) is an independent administrative unit of the Confederation. We make foreign and international law accessible and thus make an important contribution to legal practice and science. We support judicial and administrative authorities, law firms, notary offices as well as individuals, and conduct our own research in comparative law. Our research topics revolve around legal questions that are of particular importance to Switzerland, that relate to the legal challenges of complex societies or that concern a globalised economy. Our excellent specialised library, which stands out in Switzerland for the unique diversity of its documentary collections on foreign legal systems, is an invaluable resource. As a member of the national Swisscovery library network, it also benefits from an extensive network of relationships, both in Switzerland and internationally.
