Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional as Project & Construction Manager Civil Engineering / Road Construction for the independent planning and realisation of demanding infrastructure projects. You will manage projects in the areas of road construction, general civil engineering, utility construction and hydraulic engineering across several SIA phases and take responsibility for costs, deadlines and quality. In addition to technical project planning, you will conduct tenders and awards, coordinate construction execution and be responsible for contract, change order and cost management. The position offers a varied range of tasks at the interface between planning, construction management, clients, authorities and executing companies.
Responsibilities:
Independent project and construction management of civil engineering and infrastructure projects from planning to realisation and acceptance
Handling demanding projects in the areas of road construction, utility construction, general civil engineering and hydraulic engineering
Managing projects along the relevant SIA phases considering technical, economic and scheduling requirements
Responsibility for costs, deadlines, quality and resources as well as ongoing monitoring and documentation of project progress
Preparation of tender documents and specifications as well as conducting submissions and technical offer comparisons
Taking over the local construction management including site coordination, execution control, acceptance and defect management
Coordination of clients, authorities, offices, specialist planners, utility companies and construction companies
Responsibility for contract and change order management as well as checking quantities, contractor invoices and project billing
Preparation and maintenance of cost estimates, cost forecasts, scheduling programmes and cost projections
Application of relevant SIA and VSS standards as well as cantonal and municipal requirements for civil engineering and road construction projects
Handling construction administration and invoicing, preferably with Messerli or comparable software
Qualifications:
Degree in civil engineering at FH/ETH level or a comparable higher education in civil and infrastructure engineering
At least 5 years of professional experience in general civil engineering, road construction or hydraulic engineering
Solid experience in project planning and/or construction management of infrastructure projects
Good knowledge of relevant SIA and VSS standards, tendering and awarding procedures as well as Swiss construction practice
Experience in cost, schedule, contract and change order management as well as construction billing
Knowledge of a construction administration software, preferably Messerli
Very good German language skills for project management, negotiations and technical documentation
