District Heating Project Manager (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced professional as District Heating / Energy Supply Project Manager for the development and realisation of sustainable heat supply systems in Eastern Switzerland. Depending on experience, you will take on the management of overall or partial projects and accompany district heating plants and heat networks from conception through planning and construction to handover into operation. You will be responsible for the technical and economic project management and coordinate municipalities, energy supply companies, customers, authorities and system partners. The position combines energy technology, infrastructure planning and project management in a growing environment of climate-friendly heat supply.

Responsibilities:

• Management of overall and partial projects in the field of district heating and heat networks from conception to commissioning

• Planning and coordination of new build, expansion and upgrading projects for heat generation plants and distribution networks

• Responsibility for costs, schedules, quality and project risks as well as conducting structured project controlling

• Preparation of project status reports, decision-making bases and economic evaluations

• Development of technical specifications and project requirements for plants, pipeline networks and system components

• Coordination of municipalities, energy supply companies, authorities, specialist planners, contractors and system partners

• Accompanying projects through planning, tendering, awarding, realisation, commissioning and handover

• Technical and economic assessment of heat generation, heat distribution, network connections and transfer stations

• Participation in acquisition, customer consulting, quotation preparation and development of new district heating projects

• Support in evaluating expansion potentials and network densification of existing heat networks

• Ensuring the required project and plant documentation for handover to operations and maintenance

• Participation in standardisation and optimisation of internal project processes as well as in technical working groups

Qualifications:

• Technical basic education EFZ in building, energy or construction technology or comparable technical training

• Further education at HF/FH level in building technology, energy technology or related field is an advantage

• Practical experience in project management or project coordination, ideally in energy supply, district heating, building technology or infrastructure construction

• Knowledge of heat generation, hydraulic systems, pipeline networks or energy infrastructure is an advantage

• Experience with cost, schedule and quality management in technical projects

• Good user knowledge of Microsoft 365 / MS Office and experience with technical project documentation

• Very good German language skills for project coordination and technical documentation
