Responsibilities:
- You install and assemble network equipment in ZHAW buildings as well as in sensitive environments such as data centres and laboratories
- In this role, you handle tickets for network installations and connections and ensure timely implementation
- As a network technician, you undertake assignments during planned maintenance windows such as nights or weekends
- You are responsible for warehouse and material management for network components and installation materials
- In this role, you plan and execute team-internal, network-specific infrastructure projects such as DC relocations, switch and fibre optic lifecycle management
- As a network technician, you advise on network matters in construction projects, work closely with internal and external specialists, and support on-site support as well as network engineers with management tools
Qualifications:
You have a basic education as an electrical installer EFZ with further training towards telematics or a comparable background
You have solid knowledge of UKV standards including fibre optics and common connector types
You master measurement techniques for troubleshooting in the areas of fibre optic, copper, and WLAN
You are very familiar with 19-inch installation technology and work with high quality in installation and cable laying
You bring basic knowledge of the most important network protocols as well as good knowledge of WLAN standards
You hold a category B driving licence, are available for regular on-site assignments, and are physically capable of lifting and carrying network equipment during installation work
You speak good German
