IT Network Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
As an IT Network Engineer, you are responsible for the stable operation and further development of the telecommunications, network, and server infrastructure. You manage SMPP, SS7/SIGTRAN as well as modern IP networks, analyse technical faults, and support the implementation of reliable connectivity solutions.
Responsibilities:
Operation and support of SMPP, SS7/SIGTRAN, SCTP and M3UA connectivity with customers, carriers, and telecom partners
Analysis and resolution of L2 faults in the areas of networking, signalling, and protocol communication
Administration of Cisco networks, Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, NAT, and BGP routing
Operation and further development of Linux systems, Proxmox VE, Ceph, ZFS as well as server and storage infrastructures
Participation in infrastructure projects, monitoring, backup/restore, high availability, and on-call support
Qualifications:
Training in computer science, system engineering or comparable fields (computer scientist EFZ, ICT system and network technician, CCNA)
Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, NTP, and network segmentation
Experience with Linux administration, Wireshark, troubleshooting, and analysis of network problems
Knowledge of telecommunications, SMPP, SS7, SIGTRAN, SCTP or comparable technologies is an advantage
Experience with firewalls, VPNs, virtualisation (Proxmox, VMware) as well as server hardware
Very good German and English skills
