Role:
For our ROCKEN partner, the world’s leading independent manager of river ships with over 4,000 employees and a fleet of more than 100 passenger and event ships on Europe’s inland waterways, we are looking for an experienced professional as a Senior Accountant.
You will take charge of the financial accounting and independently prepare financial statements for an internationally active company in the inland navigation industry. In this role, you are the central contact person for auditors and tax authorities and work in a broad, service-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
You manage financial accounting including general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, asset accounting, and periodic accruals
You independently and punctually prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to Swiss Code of Obligations (OR) and/or Swiss GAAP FER
You support tax declarations
You prepare audits and accompany them as the contact person for auditors and tax authorities
You create ad-hoc reports and evaluations
You deputise in handling payment transactions
Qualifications:
You have completed a commercial basic education (EFZ) or an equivalent qualification as well as further training in finance and accounting (e.g., professional certificate in finance and accounting, fiduciary with federal diploma or in training for it)
You bring several years of proven professional experience in financial accounting, ideally as a chief accountant or in a fiduciary company
You are confident in dealing with Swiss accounting and tax law (OR, Swiss GAAP FER and/or IFRS); experience with auditors and authorities is an advantage
You communicate confidently in German and English, both spoken and written, and work independently, precisely, responsibly, as well as analytically and networked
You are proficient with common M365 programmes; knowledge of SAP Business One and Lucanet is an advantage
