Role:

On behalf of the client, we are looking for an entrepreneurially minded leader as Department Head: Building Technology / Data Centres & Special Systems to build and further develop a technically demanding business unit. You combine leadership, project business, and business development and develop customer-specific solutions for data centres, district heating, as well as complex energy and special systems. In addition to technical and personnel management, you are responsible for acquiring new projects and expanding existing customer relationships. The position offers a high degree of creative freedom at the interface of building technology, energy infrastructure, and entrepreneurial development.

Responsibilities:

• Technical, organisational, and personnel leadership as well as further development of the Specialities division

• Strategic expansion of the business field around data centres, district heating, energy centres, and special systems

• Leadership and development of project managers, planners, and technical specialists

• Active acquisition of projects and mandates as well as sustainable development of existing customer relationships

• Technical and conceptual consulting of clients and customers on complex building technology and infrastructure projects

• Development of economically and technically robust plant, energy, and supply concepts

• Responsibility for project portfolio, resource planning, utilisation, and economic targets of the department

• Support and control of demanding projects regarding costs, deadlines, quality, and technical risks

• Coordination of interdisciplinary interfaces between HVAC, electrical, automation, energy supply, and structural infrastructure

• Participation in offers, calculations, contract negotiations, and presentations

• Building and further development of processes, standards, and technical competencies within the division

• Ensuring relevant quality, occupational safety, and environmental standards

Qualifications:

• Technical basic training in building technology, HVAC, or energy/supply technology

• Further education as certified technician HF, FH engineer, or comparable higher technical qualification

• Several years of experience in project management and/or leadership within the building technology or construction industry

• Solid planning expertise in HVAC, energy, or technical infrastructure systems

• Experience with data centres, district heating, energy centres, or special systems is an advantage

• Proven competence in acquisition, customer consulting, calculation, and economic project management

• Very good knowledge of the Swiss building technology and planning sector as well as relevant norms and standards
