Financial Accountant (m/f/d)

Role:
For our ROCKEN partner, a biotech company headquartered in Switzerland, we are looking for an experienced professional for the Swiss accounting team. You support the accounting department, ensure correct financial reporting and compliance, and contribute to efficient finance processes. As a coordination partner for the US finance function, you are also the central interface for cross-border issues in accounting, taxes, and customs.
Responsibilities:
You take responsibility for the day-to-day business of the Swiss company (accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and related processes) and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
You coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including preparation and review of statutory and management accounts
You ensure compliance with Swiss Code of Obligations, tax regulations, as well as internal policies and controls
You coordinate consolidation, intercompany postings, and cross-border financial processes
You manage Swiss and international tax matters (VAT, profit tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, cross-border transactions), coordinate external tax advisors, and support tax audits and reviews
You monitor customs and trade compliance (import/export documentation, customs tariff classification, customs declarations, cooperation with customs agents) and observe developments in trade, customs, and taxes
You develop processes, internal controls, reporting, and ERP solutions (especially SAP Business ByDesign) further and act as the contact person for the US finance function
Qualifications:
You hold the Swiss federal diploma as a specialist in finance and accounting or an equivalent qualification
You have at least 5 years of professional experience in accounting and finance
You have solid, practical knowledge of the Swiss Code of Obligations as well as experience in financial reporting and closing processes
You have experience in a Swiss SME with around 50-150 employees and a good understanding of internal controls as well as Swiss tax and compliance requirements
You work independently and take responsibility for topics from A to Z
