Role:
Stable networks only become noticeable when they are missing. As a Routing & Switching Engineer, you ensure that this does not happen. Complex LAN, WAN, and WLAN environments are your terrain, and you master dynamic routing with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and OSPF confidently. Your technical depth counts here, as you actively shape security and availability.
Responsibilities:
You plan LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructures, build them, and operate them reliably.
In the case of persistent faults in 2nd and 3rd level support, you analyse logs, traces, and packet captures to find the cause.
You further develop firewall rule sets, sharpen security policies, and consistently segment the network.
Furthermore, you configure OSPF and BGP, operate VPN connections for sites and remote access, and secure failover.
You carefully implement changes, firmware upgrades, and migrations and integrate new systems into the existing architecture.
Additionally, you continuously improve monitoring, alerting, and network documentation.
Qualifications:
With at least 3 years of experience in network engineering, you bring a solid foundation.
You have an excellent command of TCP/IP and subnetting as well as IPv4 and IPv6.
You routinely apply VLANs, trunking, STP/RSTP, and link aggregation in practice.
Moreover, you are well versed in NAT, ACLs, DHCP, DNS, and certificates.
You understand redundancy and high availability as well as least privilege and secure network zones.
Furthermore, you approach problems methodically and analyse down to the protocol level with Wireshark and other diagnostic tools.
Benefits:
- Home office
- Experienced and dynamic team
- Interesting and varied tasks/projects
- Flat hierarchies
- Flexible working hours
- Coaching and mentoring
- Open corporate culture
- International environment
- Participation in or provision of company car
- Attractive benefits in case of illness or accident
- Family-friendly employment conditions, childcare
