Civil Engineer Overall Project Manager Structural Engineering (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced individual as Civil Engineer / Overall Project Manager Structural Engineering who takes on a central technical key role within demanding real estate and building construction projects. You will be responsible for the structural planning and interdisciplinary overall coordination across all relevant project phases, combining strategic project management with operational engineering work. The focus is on technically high-quality and economically optimised solutions in the general contractor/total contractor environment as well as close coordination between architecture, specialist planning and execution. In doing so, you actively shape the internal technical expertise and ensure quality, cost-effectiveness and feasibility of the projects.

Responsibilities:

• Taking over the overall coordination of specialist planning with a focus on structural engineering as well as coordination with HVAC, electrical, building physics and architecture

• Development, dimensioning and assessment of structural concepts for demanding building construction and real estate projects

• Preparation and technical review of static calculations as well as constructive solutions for different structural systems

• Development of economically optimised structural solutions considering construction costs, material use, construction process and feasibility

• Management of technical planning throughout the relevant project phases and ensuring compliance with applicable SIA standards and Swiss construction regulations

• Responsibility for interface management between architecture, specialist planning, construction management and executing companies

• Preparation of technical tender and submission documents as well as technical review and evaluation of offers and awarding variants

• Conducting plan and quality checks and accompanying the technical implementation on site

• Technical leadership and guidance of EFZ draughtsmen in structural engineering in the preparation and further development of execution and construction plans

• Identification of technical risks and development of optimisation and value engineering solutions for construction and building execution

• Close coordination with internal stakeholders from project development, architecture and construction management regarding technical, economic and scheduling objectives

Qualifications:

• Completed studies as a Civil Engineer FH or ETH or comparable university degree with a focus on structural engineering

• Several years of professional experience in structural planning as well as in managing demanding building construction projects

• Sound expertise in structural analysis, construction, structural concept and construction processes

• Good knowledge of relevant SIA standards as well as Swiss planning and construction practice

• Experience in interdisciplinary specialist planner coordination and interface management between planning and execution

• Practical experience with tenders, submissions and awarding processes in Swiss construction

• Knowledge of common structural analysis, CAD and BIM applications for structural planning
