Head of CIO Office

A leading insurance company in Lucerne is seeking an experienced Head of CIO Office & IT Strategy (Contract) to support the IT leadership team within the scope of a demanding interim mandate. In this key role, you will manage cross-departmental strategy, governance, and transformation initiatives and act as a trusted sparring partner for top management.
We are looking for a results-driven individual with at least 8 years of experience in the corporate IT environment and solid expertise at the interface of IT strategy, PMO, and agile frameworks.

Your responsibilities:

• Operational and strategic staff management of the CIO Office including responsibility for IT governance, portfolio management, budget controlling, risk management, and management reporting
• Close collaboration with the CIO in preparing decision papers, analyses, and strategic presentations for executive management, the board of directors, and executive committees
• Comprehensive support and management of complex, cross-departmental IT programmes and transformation initiatives considering all dependencies
• Effective integration of agile working methods (e.g. SAFe) with traditional leadership, budget, and corporate governance processes
• Preparation and moderation of leadership meetings, strategic workshops, and departmental initiatives to ensure results and decision-making

• 8 to 10 years of solid practical experience within a larger corporate IT organisation with a deep understanding of operational control and decision-making processes
• Strong PMO and consulting skills as well as proven experience in designing and implementing complex IT strategies at the executive level
• In-depth knowledge of agile organisational forms (preferably SAFe) and their integration into established corporate and governance structures
• Excellent PowerPoint and storytelling skills for target group-oriented presentation of complex technical and strategic matters
• Fluent German language skills in speaking and writing as well as confident, persuasive communication across all hierarchy levels

• Experience in regulated environments, ideally in healthcare or the insurance sector
• Relevant certifications in project/programme management or agile methods (e.g. SAFe LPM/SPC, PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL)
