Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced leader as Head of Building Services Engineering with overall technical, personnel, and economic responsibility. You will lead project managers, site managers, and installation teams and ensure the successful execution of demanding building services engineering projects. In addition to operational management, you are responsible for acquisition, customer consulting, resource planning, and result development of your area. The position combines technical expertise in building services engineering with corporate management, project management, and business development.
Responsibilities:
Technical, organisational, and personnel management of the building services engineering department as well as development of employees and leadership structures
Leadership and support of project managers, site managers, and installation teams in successful project execution
Responsibility for budget, sales, margin, and results as well as ensuring the sustainable economic development of the business unit
Acquisition of new contracts as well as systematic maintenance and development of existing customer and business partner relationships
Technical and commercial consulting of clients, planners, and business customers as well as development of economical building services engineering solutions
Monitoring the entire project portfolio regarding costs, deadlines, quality, resources, and project risks
Responsibility for resource, capacity, and deployment planning within the department
Support with calculations, quotations, contract negotiations, and awards for demanding projects
Ensuring professional project controlling, forecasting, and reporting at the departmental level
Analysis and optimisation of workflows, project processes, and interfaces as well as promotion of digitalisation
Ensuring compliance with relevant SIA standards, industry regulations, quality, and safety standards
Participation in the strategic and organisational development of the building services engineering area
Qualifications:
Completed EFZ basic training in building services engineering with relevant professional experience
Further education at HF level in building services engineering, corporate management, or comparable higher qualification is an advantage
Several years of experience in project management and/or leadership responsibility in the building services engineering environment
Sound knowledge in project management, calculation, cost control, and resource planning
Experience in acquisition, quotation management, and commercial project execution
Knowledge of relevant SIA standards and Swiss building services engineering regulations
Experience in technical and personnel leadership of technical project and execution teams
