Role:
You want to know attacks not only from textbooks but also recognise and fend them off in practice? As a Security Engineer (Junior), you get exactly this chance and work on real security projects from the start. An experienced team will guide you and give you plenty of room for questions. This way, you grow step by step into topics such as Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), firewall configuration, and identity protection. Mistakes are part of learning, and your ideas are expressly welcome.
Responsibilities:
You evaluate alerts from Microsoft Defender and distinguish real threats from false alarms.
Together with experienced colleagues, you respond to security incidents and document every step comprehensibly.
You check firewall rules on Fortinet systems and suggest targeted improvements.
Additionally, you maintain access rights and conditional access policies in Entra ID.
You write small scripts in Python or PowerShell to simplify routine tasks.
You also contribute to awareness campaigns and create clear instructions for employees.
Qualifications:
A completed basic education in computer science or a degree with an IT focus forms your foundation.
You have already gained practical experience, whether in IT support, an internship, or your own homelab.
Terms like TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory, and encryption are familiar to you.
Furthermore, you follow security blogs, current threat situations, or enjoy competing in capture-the-flag competitions.
You work carefully, keep a cool head even under time pressure, and ask questions when something is unclear.
You also participate confidently in discussions in German and read English advisories and documentation with ease.
